We were in Warsaw during the Christmas markets, but in addition to this Christmas atmosphere, we were also surprised by the city itself. The city was very developed, full of history, but also with new buildings. In addition, we visited there some great places that we recommend to see during the winter. In summer, the whole atmosphere is different, so you will find many other options that we did not use in winter. But you'll find out all about it in a moment.
Vo Varšave sme boli ešte počas vianočných trhov, no okrem tejto Vianočnej atmosféry nás prekvapilo aj samotné mesto. Mesto bolo veľmi rozvinuté, plné histórie, ale aj nových stavieb. Okrem toho, sme tam navštívili pár skvelých miest, ktoré odporúčame vidieť, počas zimného obdobia. V lete je celá atmosféra iná, preto nájdete aj mnoho ďalších možností, ktoré sme v zime nevyužili. No o tom všetkom sa dozviete o chvíľku.
1. Lazienky Krolewskie
This park will enchant you in winter as well as in summer. There are various historic buildings in the park. It is also a perfect place for creative photos or feeding squirrels. Many buildings will enchant you especially with their architecture and different styles. You will spend about 40-60 minutes in this place in winter. In summer or warmer weather, you can use it to relax and possibly have a picnic.
Tento park vás očarí rovnako v zime ako v lete. Sú v ňom rôzne historické budovy, rozmiestnené po parku. Je to aj perfektné miesto na kreatívne fotografie, či kŕmenie veveričiek. Množstvo budov vás očarí najmä architektúrou a rôznymi štýlmi. Na tomto mieste v zime strávite približne 40-60 minút. V lete alebo teplejšom počasí ho môžte využiť na oddych a možno aj piknik.
2. Warsaw old town //Varšavské staré mesto
Warsaw is also proud of its old town, which is inconspicuously reminiscent of, for example, the famous Krákow. The old town typically has a touch of Polish architecture from this period, creating a great time for walks. In winter, the streets are decorated, but I believe that even during the remaining months, this place has a wonderful atmosphere.

Varšava sa pýši aj svojím starým mestom, ktoré nenápadne pripomína napríklad aj známy Krákow. Staré mesto má typicky nádych poľskej architektúry z tohto obdobia a vytvára tak skvelý čas na prechádzky. V zimnom období sú ulice vysvietené výzdobou, no verím, že aj počas zvyšných mesiacov má toto miesto úžasnú atmosféru.

3. Palace of Culture and Science // Palác kultúry a vedy
This palace will slightly remind you of a famous building from New York. It looks like one of the newer buildings, but the interior is beautiful. In this palace, for a fee, you can go on some floors and watch the view. We did not use this option during the winter, but it is certainly an interesting option.
Tento palác ti mierne pripomenie známu budovu z New Yorku. Vyzerá ako jedna z novších stavieb, no vnútro má krásne. V tomto paláci sa za poplatok dá výsť na niektoré poschodia a sledovať výhľad. Počas zimného obdobia sme túto možnosť nevyužili, ale je to určite zaujímavá možnosť.
4. Bazilyka archikatedrálna
This basilica will fascinate you mainly with its architecture. It is located in the old town and is a great place for Instagram photos!
Táto bazilika ťa zaujme hlavne svojou architektúrou. Nachádza sa v starom meste a je skvelým miestom na instagramové fotky!
5. Warsaw barbacan // Varšavský barbacan
You will find the city gates or the so-called walls while walking through the old town. It's a very nice part that is worth seeing. Alternatively, if you go from the right side, you can enter the old town through these gates
Brány mesta či takzvané hradby nájdeš pri prechádzke starým mestom. Je to veľmi pekná časť, ktorú sa oplatí vidieť. Prípadne ak pôjdeš zo správnej strany, môžeš cez tieto brány vstúpiť do starého mesta
6. Royal castle in Warsaw // Kráľovský palác vo Varšave
You will definitely not miss this palace, precisely because it is located directly on the main square of the old town. At this palace, you will also find a tower, which again offers the possibility of a view of the whole city.
Tento palác určite neprehliadneš, práve preto, že sa nachádza priamo na hlavnom námestí starého mesta. Pri tomto paláci nájdeš aj vežu, ktorá ponúka opäť možnosť vyhliadky na celé mesto.
Tip: during the spring and summer, it is definitely worth visiting the Botanical Garden.
If you have enough time in the winter, it is worth seeing Krolewski ogrod swiatel. They are royal gardens with beautiful decorations, but a little further from the main old town. Therefore, it is definitely interesting to visit this place and see the beautiful light decoration.
There are many interesting museums in Warsaw, such as the Museum of Illusion and the Doll Museum.
Tip: počas jarého a letného obdobia sa určite oplatí navštíviť aj Botanickú záhradu.
Ak budeš mať dostatok času v zimnom obodbí sa oplatí vidieť aj Krolewski ogrod swiatel . Sú to kráľovské záhrady s krásnou výzdobou, no o trochu ďalej z hlavného starého mesta. Preto je určite zaujímavé navštíviť toto miesto a vidieť krásnu svetelnú výzdobu.
Vo Varšave je mnoho zaujímavých múzeií ako napríklad múzeum ilúzie, či múzem bábik.
