5 things to see in Bologna

In the previous post, I told you what it's like to spend New Year's Eve in Bologna. But after a great New Year's celebration, we have 3 days left to explore this amazing city. Bologna is the fourth city in Italy that we visited. Therefore, we thought that we know what we can expect from this city, but it is not true, something still surprises us and we don´t have time to wonder.

1. Piazza Maggiore

Small large square - the largest square in Bologna, which is surrounded on each side by a monument. Although it is a central square, a short distance away is the town hall, the church, the Fountain of Neptune, and many restaurants and shops. Mostly you get here from somewhere and you don't even know how you get there.

2. View from the top of Basilica di San Petronio

In Bologna, there are two ways to look at the city from a height, as we later found out. One of them is a view from the terrace of the basilica. This view is worth it, not only because you save the number of stairs that lead to the second view of Due Torri, but you also have the opportunity to see the city with the iconic Due Torri, which is incredible. The lookout cost about € 6 for one and the entrance was from the back of the church. Before you go here, be sure to see the opening hours, we were lucky and managed to make the last entry.

Predtým než sa sem vyberieš si určite pozri otváracie hodiny, my sme mali štastie a stihli sme posledný vstup.

3. Due Torri

You will find these two towers in almost every photo from Bologna. They are not to be overlooked and one of them is also the largest leaning tower in the world. So if you still thought that the only leaning tower is in Pisa you would know it wasn't. I have to say it was news to me too. There is also a second view of the city from height and it is necessary to buy tickets in advance online. I hope you are not discouraged by the 600 steps you need to walk because the view is really worth it.

4. Quadrilaterio

This rush neighborhood has narrow streets and shops selling food and various goodies. It is located near Piazza Maggiore and even though you have not been hungry yet if you choose to go there you will definitely want to taste something. I also really liked this neighborhood because of the atmosphere created by street artists here.

Táto rušná štvrť má úzke uličky a obchodíky s jedlom a rôznymi dobrotami.

5. Via Rizzoli

It is the main road that connects the train station with the famous Piazza Maggiore. We walked this street several times a day from our Airbnb. All the ways are lined with various shops and fast food. Sometimes this smell also enticed me to panini, which is fantastic.

Je to hlavná cesta, ktorá spája železničnú stanicu so známou Piazza Maggiore. My sme po tejto ulici chodili viackrát denne od nášho Airbnb. Celú cestu lemujú rôzne obchodíky a rýchle občerstvenia.
